Police chase car driven at officer in Slough

A car has been chased along the M40 after it was "deliberately" driven at a police officer trying to stop it.

The silver Audi A4 was being flagged down in a routine check on Farnham Road in Slough, Berkshire, at about 14:00 BST.

Instead of stopping, the driver aimed the car at the officer, but he managed to jump out of the way.

It then drove off at high speed into Buckinghamshire and onto the M40 northbound.

The police helicopter was brought in to track the car, but after a short pursuit police lost trace of it.

Ch Insp Henry Parsons said: "Thankfully the officer involved was uninjured but this was only due to his quick reactions.

"I would appeal to anyone who saw a vehicle matching the description, or who knows its current whereabouts, to come forward."
