Fernhill Heath mystery crash man identified

Police say they have found out a man left seriously injured after being hit by a car in Worcester is a 79-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent.

The man, who had no identification on him, was put into a medically-induced coma after the crash in Fernhill Heath on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier this week, police appealed to the man's relatives to come forward.

Officers said after waking up on Wednesday, the man was able to confirm his identity.

Police have not released his name but said he had recently been staying in Worcester.
