A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a road death involving horses on Christmas Eve.

Thomas Allen, 23, from Soham in Cambridgeshire, died after four vehicles crashed into horses at Sproughton on the A14 in Suffolk.

A 26-year-old man from Ipswich was originally arrested on suspicion of causing danger to road users.

Police said he has now been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter and released on bail.

Five or six animals were loose at the time of the crash, which happened at about 22:00 GMT on 24 December, police said.

Three horses died at the scene. Mr Allen died a day later.
