A large-scale search operation is continuing for a third day to find an 84-year-old woman who has gone missing in Cheshire.

Magdalana Whittaker, of Boundary Lane, Congleton, was reported missing by a neighbour on Christmas Eve.

She is often seen walking beside railway tracks close to her home where she gathers logs.

More than 20 officers, working with dogs and air support, are searching for her.

Cheshire Police force said it was very concerned for her welfare.

Insp Steve Griffiths added: "Our worry is further exacerbated by the fact that Magdalana is an elderly lady who is very hard of hearing."
