Hadlow Tower £4m restoration under way

A £4m restoration project is being carried out on a 19th Century tower in Kent which was badly damaged in the great storm of 1987.

Grade I listed Hadlow Tower was transferred to the Vivat Trust by Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, which served a compulsory purchase order on its former owner in 2006.

The tower formed part of Hadlow Castle, most of which is now lost except for the tower itself and the courtyard buildings.
