Tendring replaces Liverpool in Big Society pilot

Tendring Council in Essex is to replace Liverpool after they pulled out of David Cameron's Big Society project.

The Conservative-run council which covers areas including Clacton, Harwich and Manningtree will join three other councils in working with the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Each council will get £500,000 to give to community groups.
