A twelfth person has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a businessman at his farm in East Sussex.

Julian Gardner, 53, died from multiple injuries last October after apparently disturbing intruders in outbuildings at Bush Barn Farm, near Robertsbridge.

Sussex Police said the 45-year-old man from Ashford, Kent, was being questioned in custody.

The other people arrested - nine men and a woman from Kent, and a woman from Wales - have been released on bail.

Police believe Mr Gardner disturbed an unknown number of people in the early hours of 11 October in a burglary that went wrong.

He suffered compression-type injuries, possibly caused when he was crushed between two vehicles, post-mortem tests revealed.
