Police tackle night-time poaching on rural farmland

Police have started a crackdown on illegal night-time poaching on rural farmland in Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire.

Poachers are driving off-road vehicles to farmland and trying to steal animals using dogs and spotlights - a process known as lamping, police said.

Officers have visited farms to offer crime prevention advice and carried out patrols on Friday and Saturday night.

More patrols will be taking place across the area, a spokesman said.
