Crash driver from Northamptonshire dies in hospital

A 63-year-old man involved in a road collision in Northamptonshire on Thursday has died in hospital.

The man, from Rushden, was driving a Peugeot 406 that collided with an Audi A4 on the A6, near the Addington Road junction, at Irthlingborough.

He died at Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry on Friday morning.

The Audi driver, a 42-year-old man from Clapham in Bedfordshire, was taken to Kettering General Hospital where his condition was described as stable.

Police would still like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, a spokesman said.
