Woman named after link road crash in Warwickshire

A motorist who died when a car was involved in a collision with a lorry on a motorway link road in Warwickshire has been named.

Shelley Elizabeth Ward (nee New), 45, from Elderfield Road, Kings Norton, Birmingham, died in an incident on the M42/M40 link road on 10 September.

Mrs Ward, who was married with no children, was "a loving and hardworking girl", her family said.

They said she "lived for her family and horses".

In a statement released by police, the family said: "This tragedy has left a huge rift in the lives of everyone who knew her."

The incident happened near Hockley Heath at about 0630 BST.
