Body found in lake search for North Yorkshire fisherman

A body has been found in the search for a North Yorkshire fisherman missing in the Lake District.

Mark Bryant, 55, from Beamsley, was last seen fishing on Ullswater on Tuesday and the alarm was raised when he failed to return to his campsite.

A major search started on Tuesday and continued on Wednesday and his dinghy was found in the early hours.

On Wednesday night, Cumbria Police said a body had been discovered in the lake and it was believed to be Mr Bryant.

Police, coastguard, mountain rescue and underwater search teams were involved in the search.

It involved searching the lake as well as surrounding areas including campsites, hotels and guest houses.
