Fifth arrest after social club attack in Crawley

A fifth person has been arrested in connection with an attack outside a Crawley social club that left a man with serious head injuries.

The 30-year-old victim was struck with a metal implement at the entrance of the Centaur Social Club in Langley Green on Saturday at about 2320 BST.

Police said a man, 33, from Tonbridge, Kent, had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

The victim remains in a London hospital in a critical condition.

A 28-year-old man from Westerham, who was arrested by officers on Sunday, remains in custody.

Three women have been released on bail.
