Taxi driver attacked and robbed in Birmingham

A taxi driver was attacked and had his vehicle stolen after picking up two men in the West Midlands.

The driver, in a silver Honda Accord, picked up a man in Hasbury Road, Birmingham, during Monday afternoon after a man called the taxi firm from a kiosk there.

Two men got in and asked the driver to take them to Redditch in Worcestershire.

They then asked him to stop, attacked him and pulled him out of the car.

The attack took place in Frankley, Birmingham.

The men drove off in the car, leaving the driver at the roadside with minor injuries and suffering from shock.

Police said it was a "nasty ordeal" for the driver.
