A 21-year-old man arrested in east London on suspicion of assisting another person to commit terrorist acts has been bailed.

He was held on suspicion of assisting another to commit acts of terrorism, or to engage in any conduct for the committing of such acts, by facilitating another to travel abroad.

He was detained in Hackney at around 06:00 GMT on Wednesday morning.

Police have searched the property where the man was arrested.

He had been taken to a south London police station, where he was later bailed until late December, pending further enquiries.
