Police officer shot and wounded in West Yorkshire siege
A police officer has been shot in an armed siege at a house in West Yorkshire where a gunman is hiding.
Police say several shots have been fired in the incident in the Kirkheaton area of Huddersfield.
The officer has been taken to hospital for a check up and his injuries are not believed to be serious.
Assistant Chief Constable John Parkinson says officers are attempting to open a dialogue and are appealing to the gunman to give himself up.
Police say the house is in an "isolated" position and they do not think other members of the public are at risk.
The gunman is believed to be alone in the property.
