AA shares extend fall

AA has extended falls and its shares are now trading down 12.5% at 104.42p following a sharp fall in interim profits.

The wider FTSE 250 is down 3.65 points at 20,457.41.

The FTSE 100 has rebounded and is now trading up 0.17% at 7,520.39.

Hospitals group NMC Health is leading the blue chip risers, up 3.9% at £35.20.

Precious metals miner Fresnillo is the largest faller, down 2.1% at 842.9p.

Heatwave hits TUI bookings

Shares in travel group TUI plunged 9.4% to £14.33 after its third quarter earnings before interest, tax and amortisation fell 18% to €193.4m (£174.3m) on revenues down 0.8% at €5bn.

It also said that its summer booking were unlikely to outperform because of "the prolonged good weather in our key markets".

Last month, Thomas Cook said its bookings had been affected by the heatwave as more people opted to stay put.

TUI led the FTSE fallers while hospital operator NMC Health made the most gains, with its share price up 1.56% at 40.44.

Overall, the FTSE 100 is down 0.67% at 7,724.65.
