Teachers at a school in Birmingham will strike for a second time today because of concerns about pupil behaviour and safety.

Some staff at Starbank Secondary School in Yardley took industrial action last week after claiming some pupils were armed with knives and threatening members of staff.

A teaching union said management had failed to deal with the troublemakers and that insufficient progress was made at a recent meeting with Birmingham City Council.

Last week, the authority said it was in discussions with trade unions and would make sure lessons continued.
