Copyright: Highways EnglandThe M4 will be closed for the weekend in both directions from 20:00 GMT this evening between junction 6 for Slough, and 8/9 for Maidenhead.
The junction 7 westbound entry and exit slip roads will also closed until Monday at 06:00.
This is for major resurfacing work as part of the £848m smart motorway project.
Drivers will be diverted on to the A4 Bath Road and A33 through the town until the motorway reopens at 06:00 on Monday.
The project started in 2018 and is due to be completed in Spring 2022.
Smart motorways involve using the hard shoulder as a running lane and using variable speed limits to control the flow of traffic.
