The property was raided yesterday morning as part of a synchronised operation that also targeted addresses in Austria and Romania, according to West Yorkshire Police.

A man, aged 38, and a 42-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of offences under the Modern Slavery Act in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.

West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson said: “It’s reassuring to see further work being undertaken in West Yorkshire to tackle the scourge of human trafficking and modern day slavery.

“Human trafficking and modern day slavery is a sad reality and threat both nationally and regionally," he added.
