Choirs from two of London's emergency services have joined up to record a Christmas song for charity.
The Metropolitan Police Choir has worked with Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir to record Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas which has been shared on YouTube and social media sites from today.
The two choirs, which are raising funds for Care of Police Survivors (COPS) and World Child Cancer, recorded the song virtually after a planned joint concert had to be cancelled in November because of the lockdown.
Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick said she was "immensely proud of what they have collectively achieved in the face of the pandemic, bringing us all some much needed festive cheer".
Caroline Smith, paediatric physiotherapist and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir’s coordinator, said: "We hope the public enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it, and that it raises lots of donations and awareness for World Child Cancer and Care of Police Survivors.”
