Eight years ago former soldier Anil Gurung stepped on a bomb in Afghanistan.

The injuries he suffered changed his life.

The war veteran is used to overcoming tough challenges, but he's just returned from what he says is the toughest thing he's ever done.

Gurkhas receive honour for York flood work from Princess Royal

What an honour for 2 Signal Regiment.

The Princess Royal has presented them with the Firmin Sword.

It's presented every year to an armed forces team that has made the most valuable contribution to humanitarian causes.

The Gurkhas have been recognised for their work in 2015 when soldiers worked with schools and helped with the flood relief efforts in North Yorkshire.
