    The new functions will include emergency assistance and location tracking, as well as photo verification.

    Parent company Match Group - which also owns PlentyOfFish, OkCupid and Hinge - aims to roll out the features on its other dating platforms later this year.

    A surge in Tinder users has helped owner Match Group post better-than-expected revenues for the three months to March.

    The dating app - which lets users swipe right or left to like or reject potential matches -reported 4.7 million average subscribers in the quarter, 1.3 million more than last year.

    That helped boost quarterly revenues for Match Group, a US-based firm that owns other dating sites including Match.com, by around 14% to $464.6m (£355.3).

    There could be something you can do about that.

    A Dutch entrepreneur has started a legal battle to legally change his age and boost his dating prospects.

    Emile Ratelband, 69, wants to shift his birthday from 11 March 1949 to 11 March 1969, comparing the change to identifying as being transgender.

    "You can change your name. You can change your gender. Why not your age?" he told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.
