Twitter pokes fun at Egypt Mo Salah statue

He is celebrated with terrace songs and is a hero from Cairo to Croxteth.

But an unusual statue of Liverpool and Egypt football star Mo Salah has been ridiculed after it was unveiled in his home country.

The artwork was put on display on Sunday at the World Youth Forum which is being held in Sharm al-Sheikh.

It depicts the striker with his arms out wide in the goalscoring celebration he is known for.

But the bizarre piece has left some viewers perplexed.

Some have suggested it looks more like 70s pop singer Leo Sayer or Marv the burglar from the film Home Alone.
