Youngsters turn Advent round to help stock food bank

Students at a Carlisle school have swapped chocolates from advent calenders for charitable acts.

Kingmoor Nursery and Infant School has decided to have a reverse Advent calendar, which means that rather than taking something away each day, they give something to the Carlisle Foodbank.

We've asked parents to bring in specific items on each day that we're in school in December, all non-perishable that we'll then take to the foodback so they can distribute it over the Christmas period."
