SDLP and Alliance select South Belfast candidates
The SDLP and the Alliance Party have selected their candidates to fight the South Belfast constituency, if a snap Westminster election is called.
The current MP is the DUP's Emma Little Pengelly.
Claire Hanna has been put forward by the SDLP, despite her resigning the whip earlier this year in protest at her party's link up with Fianna Fail.
The Alliance Party has nominated Paula Bradshaw in a constituency where 69.5% voted to remain in the EU Brexit referendum.
In 2017, Emma Little Pengelly won the seat with a majority of 2,000. Her closest rival was the SDLP's Alasdair McDonnell.
Northern Ireland economy 'enters or is entering' recession
The Northern Ireland economy "has entered or is entering recession" according to a survey by Ulster Bank.
It suggests Brexit-related uncertainty underpinned the fall in private sector output in August.
Every month the bank asks local businesses about things such as staffing levels, exports and new orders.
It is considered a reliable barometer of private sector activity in Northern Ireland.
