Ogmore: Labour hold

Chris Elmore has been re-elected as the MP for Ogmore, with a decreased majority.

The Labour candidate beat Conservative Sadie Vidal by 7,805 votes, 6,066 votes less than the majority at the 2017 election.

Christine Roach of the Brexit Party came third and Plaid Cymru's Luke Fletcher came fourth.

Voter turnout was down by 3.7 percentage points since the last general election.

More than 35,000 people, 61.5% of those eligible to vote, went to polling stations across the area on Thursday, in the first December general election since 1923.

Two of the six candidates, Anita Davies (Liberal Democrat) and Tom Muller (Green) lost their £500 deposits after failing to win 5% of the vote.
