Feryal Clark has been elected MP for Enfield North, meaning that the Labour Party holds the seat with a decreased majority.
The new MP beat Conservative Joanne Laban by 6,492 votes. This was less than three quarters Joan Ryan’s 10,247 vote majority in the 2017 general election.
Guy Russo of the Liberal Democrats came third and the Green Party's Isobel Whittaker came fourth.
Voter turnout was down by 5.2 percentage points since the last general election.
More than 45,000 people, roughly two-thirds of those eligible to vote, went to polling stations across the area on Thursday, in the first December general election since 1923.
Two of the five candidates, Isobel Whittaker (Green) and Ike Ijeh (The Brexit Party) lost their £500 deposits after failing to win 5% of the vote.
