Homeless
BBC

Shop owners on St Peter's Avenue have raised concerns about the number of people who are now sleeping out overnight.

Humberside Police say they are working with North East Lincolnshire Council to tackle the issue.

Ch Supt Christine Wilson said the local policing team would be looking at a working group involving residents and shopkeepers.

It's really important to understand if we are making a difference or not. We also need to look at how we commission more beds for homeless sleepers and how we get them into wider service treatment."

Local MP Martin Vickers says he's pleased the developers have listened to the concerns of people.

Government to look into 'noisy road' request

Sharon Edwards

Political Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

The government says it will consider a Lincolnshire MP's request to resurface part of the A180 at Cleethorpes.

The area's MP Martin Vickers says there's an "urgent" need for the work because the concrete road surface is extremely noisy.

In the Commons earlier, transport minister and Spalding and the Deepings MP John Hayes says all roads need to be "fit for purpose".
