More on the news that Barnsley FC chairman Maurice Watkins' is to leave the Championship club and its board.
The former Manchester United director and lawyer was appointed as chairman of the Tykes in May 2013.
Mr Watkins says: "It was just over four years ago that the owner, Patrick Cryne, asked me to become chairman of the board of directors.
"I've decided the time's right to move on and I wish the club, the players, the fans, and the board every success."
A Barnsley MP has called for action after government figures showed only 9% of pupils on free school meals in the town go to university.
Stephanie Peacock, who represents Barnsley East, described to the BBC what she would like to happen to address the issue:
South Yorkshire is now a sea of red after former Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg lost his Sheffield Hallam seat to Labour.
