Adele paid as much tax last year as Facebook

Adele paid £4m in UK taxes last year. Yep, that puts her in the same tax league as social media giant Facebook.
As well as being a singer-songwriter she also owns her own publishing company.
So the 28-year-old not only makes money from her record sales but from her lyrics, sheet music and royalties.
In the last financial year (2014/15) her publishing company, Melted Stone Ltd, turned over a profit of almost £20m.
Of that, £4m was paid in taxes.
After a four year hiatus in 2015 Adele finally put her fans out of their misery by releasing her third studio album, 25.
This album might have something to do with the £43,600 per day Melted Stone Ltd made last year.
But this is not the first time the Hello singer made headlines because of her taxes.
In a 2011 interview with Q Magazine Adele spoke up about the huge sum she pays in taxes.
"I'm mortified to have to pay 50%! [While] I use the NHS, I can't use public transport any more.
"Trains are always late, most state schools are [rubbish], and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid - are you having a laugh?" she told the magazine.
Not one to mince her words, in the interview she also joked about her reaction when she first got the news.
"When I got my tax bill in from [the album] 19, I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire."
This amount of money might sound shocking but this year Adele has continuously finished on top.
She topped Heat's richest 30 under 30 list 2016 - beating Daniel Radcliffe and Ed Sheeran to the number one spot.
And in May she also signed a record deal with Sony Records worth £90m.
We wonder what record she'll break next.
