Meet Okilly Dokilly, they are the first ever heavy metal band inspired by Ned Flanders.

They hail from Phoenix, Arizona and take their name from the Simpsons character's most used phrase.

The five-piece even dress up as Ned Flanders, sporting pink shirts, green jumper, grey trousers, glasses and the famous moustache.

On their Facebook page they describe themselves as "the world's only Nedal band".

They appear to have invented a brand new genre. They say it's the heaviest-sounding project any of them have ever done.

In an interview with the website Rip It Up, they explain the sound is "not as fast as Bartcore, and a little cleaner than Krusty Punk".

"Nedal is a happy medium in the Simpscene."

All their names are Ned-themed too, Red Ned on synth, bassist Thread Ned, singer Head Ned, Stead Ned on guitar and Bled Ned on drums.

If you are wondering how this all came about well, Head Ned says: "Myself and our drummer (Bled Ned) were in line at a grocery store, entertaining ourselves by coming up with really cutesy names for really hardcore, brutal bands.

"The name Okilly Dokilly came up and was very funny to us. We ran with it."

And, of course, all their songs are packed with famous phrases used by Homer's friendly neighbour.

The song names include They Warned Me and Nothing At All.

It might all sound a bit ridiculous, but these guys are serious, their first ever gig will be in their hometown of Phoenix, Arizona on September 5.

"It will be Nedal. You will experience Nedal. You will know Nedal. Nedal will know you.

"More details to come. Hold your dang diddly horses."
