Sam Smith is to perform live during a television advert in a UK broadcasting first.
The Brits Critics' Choice winner is teaming up with Google Play Music and Channel 4 to take over an ad break later this week.
The channel will cross to his sold out gig at London's Roundhouse where Smith will perform current number one single Stay With Me.
"It's incredible to be part of a UK first," said Smith.
The performance will last three and a half minutes and will be shown during Alan Carr: Chatty Man on Friday.
Google UK's Stephen Rosenthal said: "Through Google Play Music, we're looking to shake up the way music lovers connect with the bands and tracks they love."
In the past the site's music service has been criticised for failing to tackle piracy.
The BPI claimed the firm was failing to keep its promise to make it harder to find illegal download sites when it launched.
Sam Smith, who played Radio 1's Big Weekend in Glasgow, is on a UK tour and is set to play Glastonbury in June.
His debut album In The Lonely Hour was released on Monday.
"Stay With Me being broadcast live to the nation will be a very special moment for me," added Smith.
