Stranded passenger's journey 'quicker by bike'

An exasperated passenger on yesterday's landslide-struck train worked out he could have got home quicker if he'd cycled.

Steve Watt tweeted the BBC, saying: "11 hours and 55 minutes later, finally home [in Leicester]. For context, if I’d cycled, it would’ve saved me about an hour and a half [according to Google]."

Trains between Nottingham and London were delayed, cancelled and diverted because one was hit by a landslide in Northamptonshire, with the stricken train reportedly evacuated hours after it was hit.
