Two councillors from Gedling Borough Council have received summonses over unpaid council tax bills.
Data revealed by the Freedom of Information Act shows Labour councillors Jim Creamer and Roxanne Ellis both received summonses.
Councillor Creamer represents the Carlton Hill ward, and in 2017/18 received a court summons for £1,234.16.
He said the non-payment had been "a mistake" and he "completely lost track of time".
Councillor Ellis, who represents the Ernehale ward, received two court summons - in 2017/18 for £575 and in 2018/19 for £706.
She said it was an "oversight" the bills weren't paid and she had been unemployed on and off in that period.
Both have since paid the amounts in full.
A spokesman for the council said: "Everyone is subject to the same rules if they fail to pay their council tax on time."
