The General Election 2019 in Northamptonshire is held against the backdrop of a failing crisis-hit county council.

Whatever the issues, it’s unlikely four of the current seven Conservative-controlled seats will change hands, with business secretary Andrea Leadsom (pictured above) looking certain to hold on to her South Northamptonshire seat.

Northampton North, Northampton South (pictured top) and Corby will be much closer.

In the former, Michael Ellis’ triumphed over Labour’s Sally Keeble by just 807 votes in 2017.

Whoever wins in that bellwether seat could well see their party leader heading to Number 10.
