  2. Troubles families warn of legal action

    The government and Stormont Executive have been told they have 14 days to agree to fund inquests into some of the most controversial killings of the Troubles or face court action.

  3. Man in hospital after industrial accident

    A man is in a stable condition in Craigavon Area hospital after being injured in an industrial accident in County Tyrone.

    The ambulance service say a man was trapped under a machine at Creagh Concrete in Ardboe this morning. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating.

  4. Progress of Donohoe murder investigation defended

    The progress of an investigation into the murder of an Irish police officer has been defended by the force's commissioner.

    Det Garda Adrian Donohoe was shot in a robbery at Lordship Credit Union, near Dundalk in County Louth in 2013.  Nóirín O'Sullivan said she accepted the investigation's length had been frustrating but said police could not make mistakes.

  5. Public urged to stay away from hospital after fire

    The public has been advised to stay away from Naas hospital in County Kildare and anyone who needs emergency treatment is being told to go to their GP first or to other hospitals.

    It follows a fire in an ambulance at the Emergency Department entrance to the hospital.

  6. Man arrested in dissident republican probe

    A 53-year-old man has been arrested in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, as part of an ongoing investigation into dissident republican activity.
