Two scraps of paper which were sold at a River Thames frost fair in 1740 are to go under the hammer today.
The River Thames used to freeze over during winters from the 16th to the 19th century, because the old London Bridge had narrow arches which slowed the flow of the water.
Each paper souvenir is expected to reach £1,500 when they are sold at Dominic Winter Auctioneers later today.
An 800-year-old land deed, featuring a street name where "ladies of the night ply their trade" is to be sold today.
The deed, dated 1240, refers to what is now Nelson Street in Bristol's city centre.
The street's name is believed to refer to the prostitution which took place there in medieval times.
