  2. Gatwick worst for summer holiday flight delays

    Air passengers leaving Gatwick have suffered the longest average delays during summer getaways from major UK airports, BBC analysis reveals.

    Those travelling to and from the UK on EasyJet flights have waited the longest among the 10 busiest airlines.

    Figures collected by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) during the last two summers reveal the typical delays.

    All flyers using EasyJet had an average delay of 24 minutes, and those leaving from Gatwick waited 27 minutes.

  3. British snorkelling instructor, 19, dies in Zakynthos, Greece

    A 19-year-old British water sports instructor has died while snorkelling and underwater swimming in Greece.

    Harry Byatt, who worked in Zakynthos, an island in the south-west of Greece, failed to resurface after diving into the sea, his employer said.

    The former Eastbourne College pupil's body was discovered on the seabed at a depth of around 30 metres on 6 August.

    Tributes have been paid online to the "beloved son, brother, and friend" on social media. Read more here.

  4. BreakingTeenager dies snorkelling

    Former Eastbourne College pupil Harry Byatt, 19, has died snorkelling off Greek island of Zakynthos.

    A statement on the school's Facebook page read: "The College community will be greatly saddened to hear that Harry Byatt [who] has died in a tragic snorkelling accident in Greece at the weekend.

    "Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly sad time."

  6. Brighton and Hove's Summer of Love

    About 300,000 people are estimated to have gathered in Brighton this weekend to celebrate Brighton Pride.

    This year's event was themed Summer of Love to mark 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales.

  11. Shoreham boat sinking: body found

    A man's body has been pulled from the sea at the Rampion wind farm.

    Lifeboat crews carried out searches along the West Sussex coast

    He hasn't been formally identified yet but is believed to be one of the two men still missing after their boat was hit by a larger vessel and sank off the coast of Shoreham on Sunday morning.

    One man survived after being found clinging to a buoy in the water for five hours.

    Romanian Traiam Dumitrache, 50, was named by police as the other victim yesterday.

  15. Scooter rider jailed

    A man has been jailed for six months for dangerous driving on his scooter in Crawley.

    Saif Khan from Ealing, in west London, tailgated cars on the M23 and reached speeds of 100 mph.

    After leaving the motorway at junction 10, the 22-year-old jumped two red lights and drove on the wrong side of a dual carriageway before eventually crashing and breaking his hand.
