Unmanned sea vessel 'could protect coast'

The creators of an unmanned sea vessel believe their invention could protect the South East coast from boats smuggling migrants into the country.

The Autonaut is already being used for scientific data gathering at sea - but the designers believe it could perform a surveillance role for the military or Border Force.  

Yellow weather warning in Sussex

The met office has released a warning of strong winds in Sussex. It's said to only be brief, but very strong winds are expected as a line of heavy rain moves eastwards over the UK this afternoon. 

Whilst most places will miss the worst a few spots may see gusts in excess of 70 mph.

There is worldwide interest in a nearly complete dodo skeleton which has arrived in Sussex ready for sale next week.

It's the first dodo skeleton to come up for sale in almost a century, and it's being sold by Summers Place Auctions in Billingshurst next Tuesday.

Not sure it would work in my living room mind you.

Southern to provide more trains for next RMT strike

Southern says it plans to run 62% of its normal timetable during next week’s 48-hour strike by RMT conductors.

In addition to the Victoria to Haywards Heath shuttles it introduced in the last strike, Southern will be providing a further 28 trains between Tonbridge and Redhill, with an hourly service running from around 06.30 to 18.30. 

The two-day strike takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

Spending on mental health services in Brighton for Children is a postcode lottery according to research carried out by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
