Struggling hotels in Eastbourne should be allowed to convert into homes or holiday flats, a report has recommended 

It's believed the change would allow greater investment in 4 and 5 star hotels and boost tourism in the town.

Eastbourne's Konta in US Open

British number one Johanna Konta takes on Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova later in the second round of the US Open.

It'll be the second match on Court 13.

Sussex players named in England T20 squad

Man arrested over Bexhill stabbing

A 19-year-old man from Bexhill is being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed twice in the back. 

Police were called to reports of two men fighting in Albert Road yesterday at 15:50 BST. 

A 28-year-old man from Robertsbridge was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and bailed until October.

Severe delays: Ten vehicle accident on M23

Mum's Syria charity appeal

Two years ago Samara Levy from Brighton was so affected by the images of devastation and destruction in Syria, she was determined to do something to help.

First she organised a collection of clothes through her son's school. Since then she's helped open two temporary hospitals in Syria.

Making a clean sweep

Three school friends from East Grinstead have come up with an alternative way to clean yourself, which they hope will prove popular at festivals.

As part of a GCSE project they invented a sponge which produces a thick foam with the tiniest amount of water.
