  1. Southern rail conductors' strike ends

    Claire Cottingham

That's it from me today. The 24-hour conductors' strike has come to an end.

But disruption is expected to continue throughout the day so make sure you keep your tweets, emails and Facebook messages coming in.

There will be more on this story on BBC South East Today at 18:30 BST with Rob Smith and Polly Evans.

  2. "Your staff are unhappy, your customers are unhappy"

    Claire Cottingham

It's been a frustrating morning for many commuters across the South East as the Southern rail 24-hour conductors' strike entered its final hours.

Here's what some of you had to say on twitter.

  3. Commuter tales: 'You can not take two days off work'

Commuter Paul Barker,of Rye, told BBC Sussex how the conductors' strike affected his daily commute to London.

He said he worked from home on Tuesday but went to Robertsbridge to catch a Southeastern service on Wednesday.

"You can not take two days off at work but it was standing room only from Frant," he added.

  4. Compensation for strike days

  5. Striking Southern rail conductors 'solid and united'

RMT general secretary Mick Cash says union members are standing firm as the strike over changes to the role of Southern rail conductors enters its final stages.

"Our guards members on Southern are solid and united on the second day of action and the union welcomes the support from the travelling public as they recognise that this dispute is about defending safety critical jobs and services against the drive for cash-driven cuts that would see those services hacked to ribbons.

"All of those cuts plans are driven by one factor and that is the over-arching demand from Southern to max up their financial returns."

Operator Govia Thameslink Railway says there will be no job losses or cuts in salary and the changes will make staff more visible.

  6. Southern remind passengers to plan journeys

An amended timetable is in place today because of the walk out by conductors.

Southern rail tweeted a picture of their strike route map to remind people to check ahead before travelling.

The industrial action is due to end at 11:00 BST but Southern have warned of disruption to services until 18:30 BST.

  8. Rail chief 'pleased' that RMT union talks will go ahead

Dyan Crowther, chief operating officer of Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR), told Neil Pringle on BBC Sussex she "was very pleased to hear" that the RMT union was going to attend talks aimed at halting the strike action.

The action by conductors is in protest at the introduction of more driver-only trains and a planned change to their role.

Mick Cash, of the RMT union, said the dispute was about safety but GTR, which operates Southern rail, said the new system would be perfectly safe.
