Fans pay tribute to Ipswich Town legend Kevin Beattie

His daughter and grandson led the side out last night before their 1-1 draw with Brentford, and the players wore black armbands.

Former team-mates and opponents have been paying tribute to "Beat", who first arrived at the club as a 15-year-old and made his debut against Manchester United in 1972.

He went on to start in 296 games for Town, scoring 32 goals, and helped them win the FA Cup in 1978 and Uefa Cup in 1981.

Ed Sheeran on GoT: 'They should have killed me off'

Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran got a bit of flack when he appeared on the hit show Game of Thrones.

Some even suggested the negative reaction to his brief appearance as a singing soldier on the HBO series led to him leaving the Twitter-verse - though the ginger one disputes this.

Still, he told Buzzfeed, that killing him off might have been a more satisfactory end for those dissenters to his cameo.

‘It was fun being in Game of Thrones, but I definitely think they should’ve killed me off in the episode.

"I reckon that probably would’ve been the redemption for people that didn’t like it."

Nonetheless he believes his character is "still out there...chilling".

Oh, and he also revealed he sings Taco Friday in the shower and he'd be a Hufflepuff (that's a Harry Potter reference for those of you scratching your heads).

All this while playing with kittens - is there no end to the man's talents?!
