    Stoke City defender Geoff Cameron and midfielder Stephen Ireland are doubtful for tonight's Norwich game after missing the FA Cup match against Doncaster because of injury.

  5. 'I dropped a shampoo bottle on my foot' - Ambulance service releases nuisance calls

    Emergency 999 calls about scary hedgehogs, lost keys and a request for a lift after a drunken night out are just some of those received by West Midlands Ambulance Service.

    While these are nuisance calls, the ambulance service also faces hoax calls from people deliberately diverting crews to non-existent emergencies.

    In the first 11 months of last year the ambulance service said it received more than 450 hoax calls, tying up paramedics and other staff from attending potentially life-threatening emergencies.

  6. Wet weather brings flood alerts for parts of Staffordshire

    More heavy rain today's led to the Environment Agency issuing flood alerts for parts of Staffordshire.

    They mean flooding is possible and are for:

    - The River Sow and River Penk in the Stafford area

    - The River Churnet and River Tean in the Staffordshire Moorlands

    - The River Trent in the Burton area

  7. Wintry weather shuts Cheshire road: Grit being 'washed away'

    The A54 from Bosley to Buxton is to stay closed all night because of black ice now and snow to come later, police say.

    Cheshire Police says water is flowing from the hills on to the road, washing away grit and de-icing agents, making it "treacherous". 

    The Cat and Fiddle road - the A537 - between Macclesfield and Buxton has been closed for the same reason

  8. Hearing aids decision delayed in Staffordshire

    A decision on cuts to free hearing aids in Staffordshire is being delayed until at least September following concerns from charities and the public.

    Health bosses from four clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in the county had wanted to follow North Staffordshire CCG's lead by withdrawing free hearing aids for people with mild hearing loss.

    But, after a campaign against the change, in November last year an inquiry was held to consider their concerns.

    Now health bosses say they'll wait for a report based on that inquiry before making any changes and current services will continue until September.

    A lecturer from Wistaston, Cheshire has collected an international photography award

    Jonathan White teaches at South Cheshire College but says he is a prolific photographer when he travels. 

    The prize, from the website TripAdvisor is for the 3,700 pictures he uploaded to their pages in 2015 alone.

  11. Football: Crewe manager eyes club's long-term future

    Crewe Alexandra's boss Steve Davis says retaining their Football League status is the number one priority.

    The board of directors are being criticised by fans for not giving the manager money to spend.

    But Davis told BBC Radio Stoke they have the club's long-term future in mind.

  14. Football: Third time lucky is hope for Port Vale's postponed Swindon game

  15. Drug driving arrests in December in Cheshire 'highest' so far

    Over 250 people were arrested for drink and drug driving across Cheshire during December.

    Cheshire Police says 91 of those arrests were purely drug related - and 21 of those were made in the Crewe area.
