  9. Christmas support parcels given to hundreds of Telford families

    Three hundred and sixty five Christmas meal packages are being distributed to families who need them in Telford.

    It's part of a project by the Telford Crisis Network, who have thanked people in the community for their donations and hard work packing them.

  10. Baby alpaca a Christmas 'miracle'

    When Amy Plaskett was given two female alpacas as a surprise wedding present from husband James, she had no idea one would give birth for Christmas. 

    Unbeknown to the couple, who live near Shrewsbury, one of them was already pregnant. And the baby has arrived just as the festivities begin, suitably named Holly.

  12. Turkey pick-up produces Christmas windfall for Shropshire farmer

    Reading this might make you hungry!

    Condover potato farmer David Cartwright also grows turkeys, something he started doing to make some extra cash when he was an agricultural student years ago. 

    He's expecting around 800 customers to drop by at Home Farm today and tomorrow to pick up their Christmas birds.

  14. Travel: A41 reopens after crash

    The A41, near Press Heath has now been reopened following an earlier accident involving two vehicles. 

    Police say there are no reports of serious injuries.

    There are some delays between Chelmarsh and Highley because a fallen tree is blocking the B4555 between the two South Shropshire villages.

  15. Homeless centre opening in Telford in the new year

    A new centre to help people who are homeless or who are suffering with mental illness is set to open its doors in 2017. 

    The hope is that the new building, which will be in Telford, will eventually be open 24 hours a day.

    The organisers say it's been a big success, bringing thousands of extra visitors to the area.

  17. Heading home for Christmas?: Warnings about tailbacks and weather

    A combination of weather and maintenance on the roads and rail are expected to make the Christmas getaway more difficult later. 

    Millions of people will be heading off for the festive period but drivers are being warned about tailbacks and engineering works could make it tough on the trains.
