    We'll be looking at a busy day on the motorways, as thousands of people headed off for their Christmas holidays.

  4. Dog rescued from disused quarry

    Shropshire's fire service have rescued a dog from a disused quarry at Pant this afternoon.

    Charlie had jumped over a fence and became trapped on a ledge, so they had to send down a man with ropes to bring him back up again.

    He has now been reunited with his owners.

  5. Flooding not expected at Christmas

    The Environment Agency says it's not expecting any serious flooding this Christmas.

    More rain is forecast, but it says that with river levels falling over the next couple of days, it will probably just top the rivers up again.

    Keep checking for updates though - because forecasts can change.

    Staff at Shropshire's hospitals have been competing against each other in a Christmas decorations competition.

    The eventual winner was the team at the Acute Medical Unit, but as you can see, everyone made an effort!

  9. Kaikai recalled by Palace

    Sullay KaiKai has been recalled from his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town by parent club Crystal Palace. 

    The 20-year-old winger had become one of the most important players in Mickey Mellon's squad, contributing five goals and plenty of creativity in his 14 appearances.

    Palace say he was due to stay out on loan until 16 January 2016, but the club have instigated the 24-hour recall clause in the agreement.

  11. Shrewsbury flood barriers to remain up

    The Environment Agency says the flood barriers in Shrewsbury will remain up for the time being, with river levels continuing to rise in the county.

    It hasn't decided how long they will remain up.

    It says it has no plans to put up the barriers in Ironbridge yet.

  14. Travel: Traffic light issues and Christmas congestion at Meole Brace

    Christmas traffic around the Meole Brace retail park, some faulty traffic lights on Roman Road and temporary lights put up by Severn Trent are combining to cause heavy traffic on the southern edge of Shrewsbury today.

  15. Water returning to homes after burst pipes

    Severn Trent say they've fixed the burst pipe in Shrewsbury which left around 1,000 homes without water this morning, but the work to fill in the hole on Oteley Road will take the rest of the day.

    Meanwhile, they've now found the source of the leak in Oswestry which has been affecting just under 100 homes in the St Martins area.

    They hope to have things back to normal there very soon and the fault fixed by the end of the day.
