  6. Armed raiders rob bookmakers

    Two men armed with a knife threatened staff at a bookmakers before making off with a quantity of cash.

    The pair, wearing dark clothing, raided Coral Bookmakers in the Parade, Oadby, on Friday before running off towards Sandhurst Road.

    Leicestershire police are appealing for witnesses.

  8. Market Hall closure due to Storm Aileen

    High winds are expected to batter the country overnight, prompting the city council to close the market.

    Four panes of glass on the roof of the Market Hall need maintenance work, a spokesman added.
