    The A1 north remains closed in Rutland after a lorry carrying pasta sauce caught fire earlier.

    Highways England expects the road - shut between the junctions with the A47 and the A606 - to open by about 18:30.

    Danny Drinkwater joining Chelsea "fits" with what Antonio Conte's squad needs, according to former Leicester captain Matt Elliott.

    National newspaper reports have continued to link England international Drinkwater with a move to the capital.

    Elliott told BBC Radio Leicester's Football Forum: "The more you think about it, the more it fits.

    "I think Chelsea are looking at buying him as cover, even though they obviously rate him quite highly.

    "Will they be willing to pay over the odds for Drinkwater?"

    It appears the price of going to the Dinosaurs of China exhibition at Wollaton Hall (see 14:46) has sparked plenty of debate over on the BBC Radio Nottingham Facebook page.

    Tony Durrant seems more upbeat: "Not long back from there, Wet soggy day so wife and I along with the grandson went this morning. Wife and I thought it was good, interesting and enjoyable but the grandson described it as ....... "BRILLIANT."

  10. Dashcam footage sought after woman's A38 death

    Police have made a fresh appeal for dashcam footage after a woman died in a crash on the A38 last week.

    The woman, who has yet to be named, was found dead on the southbound carriageway near Ripley on Thursday night.

  12. Lorry carrying pasta sauce goes up in flames

    A fire on board a lorry carrying thousands of jars of pasta sauce is likely to close a section the A1 for the next few hours.

    Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said the closure, near the junction for the A606 on the northbound carriageway, would allow for the HGV and glass to be cleared.

    The service added that the driver had sustained no injuries in the blaze.

  13. Staff 'threatened with fake gun' during attempted robbery in Matlock

    A robber left empty-handed after threatening staff at a newsagent shop in Matlock this morning.

    Police said the man entered the Smedley Street East store at about 07:30 holding what appeared to be an imitation handgun and demanded money from the till.

    When staff refused he left the shop and headed off in the direction of Henry Avenue.

    Police now want to hear from anyone who saw a man wearing a black tracksuit and hooded jacket loitering near the shop's entrance with his face partially covered.

  14. Government praises Rutland's social care provision

    Rutland County Council has been ranked the top local authority in the country for its social care services, according to the Department for Health.

    Social care provision helps reduce strain on the National Health Service.

    Each local authority has been assessed on its performance in six areas, before an overall ranking is reached.

    In total, 152 local authorities were assessed.
