  5. Dismissal followed lewd comments and knee squeeze

    The Nottingham Post reports Mr Syed made a series of sexually inappropriate comments to female colleagues and squeezed the knee of a female officer while driving her down a dark lane in a patrol car.

  6. Officer had denied misconduct allegations

    The panel found Mr Syed guilty of five of the six counts of misconduct he was facing and he was dismissed - although he is entitled to appeal the decision.

    Det Insp Louise Jordan, said: "We expect the highest standards of behaviour from those employed by Nottinghamshire Police."

    A Nottinghamshire police officer has been sacked following a misconduct hearing.

    Ateeq Syed, 39, based at Radford Road Police Station, was dismissed after the panel found him guilty of sexually inappropriate, degrading, and unprofessional conduct towards female colleagues.

  12. 'People feel neglected in Warsop'

    Andy Wetton, chairman of Warsop Parish Council, said he hoped a new operator could be found for Meden Sports Centre.

    "It's always been a valued centre of the community. Thousands of children have learned to swim there," he said.

    "People generally feel we're neglected in Warsop - there's not been a lot of investment in the town over the years and they feel left out."

    Worksop's Mark Foster slipped back to a share of 26th place with a second-round 73 at the inaugural World Super 6 in Perth, Australia.

    He made seven birdies in his opening round but could manage only one in round two, with two bogeys leaving him on five under par.
