    I've just been sent these fascinating pictures and artifacts from 1968 when the first conservation areas were designated in Nottinghamshire.

  8. Canal death 'not suspicious'

    The death of a man whose body was found in the canal off Carrington Street on Wednesday is not being treated as suspicious, Nottinghamshire Police have said.

  14. Man admitted child sex offences last month

    At Nottingham Crown Court last month, Slade admitted attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity between November 1 and 20, and a similar charge between May 29 and June 8.

    He also accepted attempting to meet a child under 16 following grooming and a third count of attempting to incite a girl to engage in sexual activity.

  15. Child sex offender back in police custody

    A man who failed to show up at court for sentencing after admitting child sex offences is now in custody, Nottinghamshire Police have said.

    Ricky Slade, 29, of no fixed abode, was caught chatting to people he believed to be young girls on the internet by an online action group.  

    He was due to be sentenced on Tuesday but did not attend court and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
