Rescued kittens: More pics

Amy Harris

Reporter, BBC East Midlands Today

I've been to see how the four kittens found abandoned on a Nottingham building site are doing in their new home at an RSPCA rehoming centre in Derby.

Victoria Leeming, from the centre in Abbey Street, said it's been business as usual and they're looking to rehome 750 to 800 animals at the moment.

She said they're not sure if the kittens were abandoned by their owner or their mother got scared and left them.

"They're doing really, really well they're thriving," she said.

Firefighters have released these dramatic pictures of a crash this morning in Plumtree - a day after another crash in almost exactly the same place.

The car you can see on its side came off the road this morning - the driver had to be cut out by fire crews from West Bridgford and London Road.

BBC News Online

There is "sickness in the camp" among Nottingham Panthers as they head to Coventry tonight for an Elite League game.

They're hoping to ice the same line-up as the winning side against Sheffield but no-one has been officially scratched from the line-up so far.

Rehab and recovery continues for missing defencemen Jeff Dimmen and Geoff Waugh and forward David Clarke but they're not expected to play before the weekend.

No, not the one just off the Old Market Square.

The crack appeared in the statue of Cloughie at Middlesborough FC's Albert Park in July, just above his bronze ankle.

Mr Moore added that wheat sold at the gate to feed the birds has had to be stopped.

“I don’t like strolling past them in the morning when they expect to get out of our large goose barn, where we keep them at night for protection from foxes.

Petting farm ducks caged over bird flu threat

Eric Simpson

BBC News Online

If you keep hens and ducks, you'll know this story well - three weeks ago the government urged all poultry owners to keep chickens, ducks and geese indoors because of a threat of bird flu.

There was concern that migrating birds may carry the highly contagious infection.
